The most famous demigod in Polynesian mythology, Maui is now in Smite. The Hawaiian character is well suited for melee support. His main weapon is a fishing hook, which Maui can use to grapple his opponents.

When rendering Maui, the developers of the character relied on his image in Hawaiian culture, including myths about his exploits and his wonderful fishing hook Manaiakalani that have come down to our times.

Visually, the new god is muscular, agile and strong. He has a charming smile and strong charisma. His clothes are made of tree bark and plant fibers, and the hook is made of fishbone.

Maui’s abilities in Smite:

- Manaiakalani: Maui marks the enemy nearby. This allows you to further increase the effect of the basic attack;

- Master Fisherman: the ability enables the hero to spin the hook and throw it at the enemy. Note that the hook will fly further if Maui jumps higher. Once hit, the hook deals damage, cripples and vortexes the enemy towards Maui for 1.5 seconds.

- Mystical Ulua: Maui throws an Ulua that explodes on landing This gives all allied gods within 35 units additional protection and movement speed for 5s. At the same time, Ulua creates a pillar of water that lasts for 10 seconds;

- Solar swing: the character leaps, latches his hook onto a ray of sunlight, swings, leaps and slams his hook into the ground, damaging and stunning all enemies in the area.

- Landfall: throws his hook at the target area and pulls up an island, knocking all enemies in the area up into the air and pulls them in front of himself The island remains on the battleground. Maui can reactivate this ability to destroy the island early.
